Flazéda Fencing, under the guidance of an experienced competitive fencer, offers recreational fencing classes and plans to expand with ongoing weekly classes and kids' programs. Our program commitment is to cultivate a welcoming, inclusive and fun community surrounding the beauty, skill and thrill of fencing.

About Becca (they/them)
Head Coach
I'm Becca Howes, the head coach and a lifelong sabre fencing enthusiast with over 25 years in the sport. I spent nearly a decade as a high-performance competitive fencer, competing at both national and international levels and earning many medal placements along the way. I am an NCCP-certified community fencing coach, with Safe Sport and First Aid certifications, dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and dynamic space for fencers of all levels. My coaching experience includes teaching kids’ classes at Cutting Edge Fencing and leading summer camps at the Royal Military College in Kingston. Off the gym floor, I am the Social Media Coordinator for the Canadian Fencing Federation. At Flazéda Fencing, my focus is on new helping fencers develop technical skills, tactical awareness, and confidence—while having fun! Whether you're picking up a sword for the first time or looking to refine your sabre technique, I’m here to support your journey.
